JUGANDO CON EL ACORDE MU MAYOR / PLAYING WITH MU MAJ CHORD

 El acorde mu fue creado por el artista de rock Steely Dan. Se trata de un acorde mayor con una segunda (o novena añadida). Así, las notas que contiene son 1 - 2 - 3 - 5. Por ejemplo C - D - E - G. Este acorde es diferente del acorde sus2, ya que el último carece de tercera (1 - 2 - 5). 

El acorde mu, por tanto se puede cifrar como un add2 o add9. Desde luego, no fue inventado por este artista, pero sí la manera de usarlo, los voicings. Lo característico es la disonancia que crea la segunda. El acorde debe tener mínimo cuatro notas, puede haber más (ejemplo: Cmaj7 add9). Lo habitual es no crear un cluster entre las notas 1-2-3 sino que la que está en el bajo quede a distancia.

Se puede formar con la fundamental en el bajo o con la tercera en el bajo y con distintos voicings.
