CODA

Como compositor amateur disfruto y aprendo de los grandes autores. Pero igualmente me gusta escuchar y absorber ideas de compositores del momento y que tenemos cerca.

Uno de ellos es este compositor (Jónatan García Álvarez), cuya conozco bastante y cuyo estilo me gusta por su frescura y libertad con la que utiliza la armonía, los ritmos, los acentos y dinámicas.

Esta obra titulada (CODA) concluye un gran proyecto suyo, y se titula CODA.

As an amateur composer I enjoy and learn from the great composers. But I also like to listen and absorb ideas from composers of the moment and that we have close to us.

One of them is this composer (Jónatan García Álvarez), whose style I like for its freshness and freedom with which he uses harmony, rhythms, accents and dynamics.

This work titled (CODA) concludes a great project of his, and it is titled CODA.

Lo caracteristico de esta pieza es que está en modo dórico excepto en algunos puntos donde se rompe

la modalidad y aparece la sexta bemol típica del modo menor sin más. En este caso, la sexta caracte-

rística del Re dórico es B natural, y la sexta del modo menor Bb. 

Así la progresión es bastante estática, cuestión que caracteriza una composición modal, pero en el

compás 7, en el 11 y el el 13, se incluye el acorde de Bb. De esta manera se rompe por momentos el

ambiente general de la composición.

También destaco la polirritmia entre melodía y acompañamiento, asi como la libertad de rubato y 

esos arpegios tan amplios.

The characteristic of this piece is that it is in Dorian mode except in some points where 

the modality is broken and the typical flat sixth of the minor mode appears. 

In this case, the characteristic sixth of the Dorian D is B natural, and the sixth of the minor mode Bb. 

Thus the progression is quite static, which is characteristic of a modal composition, 

but in measures 7, 11 and 13, the Bb chord is included. In this way, the general mood of the composition is

general atmosphere of the composition.

I also highlight the polyrhythm between melody and accompaniment, as well as the freedom of rubato 

and those wide arpeggios.
